The pico itself comes preloaded with swiss and connects to the gamecube optical drive with a ribbon cable, no soldering required. Be patient and gentle with the install, don’t crease the ribbon cable too hard (besides that one point in the very middle). Follow the guides exactly, and you should be fine. This works great for me and it was much cheaper than the flippydrive, and actually arrived quickly (~1.5 weeks) rather than taking several months!

Solderless installation was surprisingly easy and worked the first attempt, just be careful with the flex cable (2 are provided incase you screw it up).

This picoloader kit is great. It’s super easy to use provided you’re okay with deconstructing your gamecube a little bit. The ribbon cable is a little delicate, but not so much that i ever felt like i was going to treat or damage it. Using the picoloader does take some research, but i figure most people wouldn’t be buying it if they hadn’t already done their research.

It worked perfectly, just needed to mention that you still need to configure SD2SP2 before inserting the card with games into the console. If anyone is unsure, they need to place the “idl.boot” file in the root of the card and insert it into the console.

Works perfectly. I folded it the wrong way (it was too long) and had to fold it again to install it properly. The flex is pretty solid as i folded it many times (i still have the 2nd flex).
Took it with sd2sp2 pro, i was expecting to trim it but it wasn’t necessary as it fits perfectly.
Juste prepare the files on a microsd with swiss on it, and you’re good to go !

Excellent alternative to the flippy drive. You don’t get a “gamecube-esque” interface like flippy drive, but you’re able to watch the gamecube logo upon boot up and the gamecube then boots swiss, letting you pick what every game you want to play. You can also still utilize the optical drive if yours works, so you don’t lose any functionality. No soldering either.

The installation was super simple, and to activate Swiss, I just had to follow a tutorial I found on YouTube. You need a USB-C data cable to connect it to the computer and flash the PicoLoader. I also got 2 other adapters for the GameCube: GC2SD (for classic save games) and SD2SP2 (for loading games). It works great. It charges faster than mini DVDs.
